Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Greenbook iOS app and the Greenbook website at greenbook.asia (together, the "Service"), operated by Greenbook ("we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account.
- Provide accurate sign-up information. Don't impersonate another person, organization, or place.
- One person, one account. We may suspend duplicate or shared accounts.
- Notify us at security@greenbook.asia if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post — guides, photos, comments, profile information ("Your Content").
By posting Your Content you grant Greenbook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g., re-encode images for delivery), publicly display, and distribute Your Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. The license ends when you delete the content or delete your account, except for backup copies that may persist for a short retention window per Section 6.
You represent that you have the rights to post Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, depicts sexual content involving minors, promotes violence, or otherwise violates applicable law.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate others.
- Spam, scam, run pyramid schemes, or post deceptive affiliate / commercial content.
- Reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or attempt to disrupt the Service's infrastructure.
- Upload malware or attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or content controls.
- Use the Service to train machine-learning models for third parties without our written permission.
You can report objectionable content from inside the app (long-press a comment or open the more menu on a guide → Report). We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts without prior notice.
5. Moderation and termination
We may, with or without notice, remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or to the Service. We may also terminate or suspend the Service in whole or in part at any time.
You may terminate at any time by deleting your account from inside the app (Settings → Delete account). Termination ends the license you granted us in Section 3 and triggers the data deletion described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Data deletion
When you delete your account we permanently remove your guides, comments, likes, saves, follows, photos, and outgoing reports. Reports filed against content you authored remain in our moderation log with the content reference detached. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention schedule.
7. App stores and platform
The iOS app is distributed through Apple's App Store and TestFlight. You also agree to Apple's standard EULA for App Store apps. Apple is not a party to these Terms, but it may enforce them as a third-party beneficiary.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that user-generated content is accurate. Travel decisions you make based on the Service are your responsibility.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Greenbook is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service. In no event will our aggregate liability for any claim exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) US$50.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Greenbook from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Greenbook is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. (Operator: insert specific jurisdiction before publishing.)
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify users in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after a change indicates acceptance.
